Japan Foundry Society (JFS) will host the 13th World Conference on Investment Casting and Expo at the Kyoto Internal Conference Center, Kyoto, Japan April 15-18, 2012.
This will mark the first time in World Conference history that the event will be in Asia. Scheduled every four years, the World Conference has historically been held in the UK, Europe or the United States. The last World Conference was in Dallas, TX in 2008.
Cosponsors of the 2012 event include the Japan Foundry Society, Investment Casting Institute, European Investment Casters Federation and Cast Metals Federation.
Kenji Itoh, Japan Foundry Society, Inc., noted the event included activities with about 30 market and research and technical presentations as well as plant tours.
A call for papers has been issued. "We expect the high grade program to reflect a balance of lecture from foundries, users, suppliers and universities from the whole world, United State, Europe and Asia," he said.
A limited number of papers have been allocated to the various geographic locations represented by cosponsoring organizations. North American Institute members can submit their abstracts to Institute Executive Director Michael Perry (mperry@investentcastig.org).
The "Global Investment Casting Exhibition," will provide an opportunity for participants to see first-hand the latest products and services.
Only limited exhibit spaces is able from approximately 84 spaces originally reserved for exhibitors. About 75% are already sold.
